Chakra is sanskrit for wheel. Chakras are subtle energy centers located in our Etheric body. When these subtle energy centers are perceived, they look like wheels of light. There are seven major chakras and are located at intervals along the spine. The chakras have a variety of roles. They connect our subtle energy bodies to our physical body. Some chakras are doorways to higher dimensions. The chakras direct our life force to fulfill specific functions.



    * Sit comfortably with back relatively straight

    * Breath deeply.  Keep the tempo slow to moderate

    * If you become distracted, simply bring yourself  back into your meditation and                 continue

    *  If you begin to fall asleep, let it happen

    * Meditate twice daily for 10 -20 minute sessions

    * Have NO expectations.  Don't force the experience.    Experiences will range from         boring, invigorating, calming, exciting or countless other experiences. 

    *  REMEMBER.... it's ok and natural for thoughts to arise, and for your attention to follow them. No matter how many times this happens, just keep bringing your attention back to your breathing.



    *  Begin repeating the mantra gently in your mind.

    *  Repeat the mantra at whatever tempo feels most natural. There is no need to synchronize the mantra with your breathing, but if this occurs naturally, it's ok.

    *  Allow the mantra to arise more faintly in your mind... repeating it with minimal effort.

     * Continue repeating the mantra faintly, and allow for whatever happens.

*   Look at the "screen" that fills the space behind your closed eyelids. There will be particles, images, or patterns of light on this screen. (Consider anything that is not pure darkness to be a form of light.)

*  Gently focus your attention on the light.

*   Don't try to create or interpret images. Don't attempt to focus clearly. Simply look at the light with relaxed attention.

*   If you feel as though your consciousness is shifting, or you are slipping into a dreamlike state, allow it to happen. Whatever you experience is ok.

    *  Imagine your Higher Self - your Spiritual Self - as a human-sized form of brilliant golden-white light just over your head.

    *  Imagine your Higher Self slowly descending to unite with you... to merge its essence with your essence... transforming your entire being into brilliant golden-white light.

    *  Imagine your surroundings becoming brighter and brighter, until there is nothing but an infinite ocean of golden-white light... the limitless light of Spirit.

    *  Imagine your consciousness gently expanding, becoming one with this limitless light. Remain immersed in the ocean of light for a few minutes, and then slowly come out of your meditation.

    *  Visualize a large ball of radiant Golden light a few inches over your head.

    *  Visualize that ball of light slowly descending through your crown, filling your entire being with golden light. Imagine yourself absorbing that light as it nourishes, cleanses & heals your whole being - your Spirit and all of your bodies - dissolving all blocked and toxic energies.

    *  Repeat this exercise, visualizing a ball of Red light. Continue through the entire spectrum like this, visualizing a ball of Orange light; Yellow light; Green light; Blue light; Indigo light; and Violet light. Go through the spectrum at whatever pace feels appropriate.

    *  Take some time to visualize yourself in a state of perfect, radiant health.
